Vegan Curry Night

After a packed house for our last dinner event, we figured we would keep the goodness going!

This time Nehemiah and Matiga will collaborate on a combination of Indian, Indonesian and Tanzanian-inspired cuisine--all made from scratch.

Menu:

1) Chapati flatbread and gluten-sensitive naan

2) Sweet potato, tempeh and spinach red curry

3) Wild-harvested Ojibwe Rice from Honor the Earth (an indigenous organization devoted to environmental and economic justice)

4) Coconut milk-cooked beans

5) Sauces: tomato-date chutney, mango-cashew cream, and green chutney

6) Dessert TBD!

we'll have water and ice. bring your own favorite drinks if you like!
the espresso, kombucha, juice, and tea bar will be stocked and open for sale.

$40 total ($5 extra for gluten-sensitive version)

Do you love Kombucha but not the price?

Jacqui will show you how to start your own continuous brew! After this demonstration you can have a gallon of kombucha a week for the cost of tea and sugar!

We will go over equipment
What you might need
How to start your brew
How to maintain it your culture
We’ll sample a fresh batch and demonstrate how to decant it

You will leave with all the ingredients you need to start your batch of kombucha. This batch can be continuously brewed indefinitely!

Bring a glass jar or container to take home your own scoby (mother) and 2 cups of starter liquid.

3rd: Spinach and Killbuck Valley Mushroom Ravioli

What will we be cooking?
Chana Dal stew in coconut curry (Split lentils with seasonal veggies in creamy delicious coconut masala curry)
Aloo gobi (cauliflower and potatoes in spices)
Matar pulao (rice infused with fragrant whole spices & peas)
Naan or chapati(everyday home bread like tortillas)

The Indian cooking classes with Cleveland Masala are hands-on, informative and interactive. You will learn dishes that are rooted in India's age-old culinary traditions yet adapted to today's kitchen and lifestyle.

We will begin with the essentials, and slowly move up to a point where you will be confident enough to throw in a pinch of this and a dash of that. We will learn all about lentils/dal. A staple source of protein for Indian diet. Imagine a whole evening dedicated to exploring different kinds of lentils using locally grown vegetables and healing spices of India.

This will be an enriching experience in building your culinary foundation in Indian cuisine.
